Pregnancy Story of Akpobome Evenlyn

Mrs Akpobome Evenlyn became a beneficiary when she was 8 months pregnant.She was signed on the program at one of our sensitisation outreach at the University Medical Teaching Hospital Akure on the 13th of December 2023.She had endured five miscarriages in the past. She was also suffering from chronic hypertension at the time we met her .This condition warranted a close observation and regular antenatal visit.She was put on bed rest in the early stages of the pregnancy because she was vomiting blood a condition she developed as a result of the hypertension
The foundation paid for all her medical bills and ensured that she didn’t miss any of her antenal clinic.We also monitored her closely by checking on her regularly and giving her councel and encouragement.
The doctors where able to manage her till the 38th week and she was scheduled for a Cesearian section.The surgery was successful and she delivered a baby girl on the 19th of January 2024. Mother and child are doing well.
